The excitement is starting to build as BRUTAL LOVE returns to the races this week after a hot 2YO campaign. Clint purchased the burly son of Brutal from the 2024 Inglis Classic Yearling sale for $37,500 on the account of Murrulla Stud and his precocity was what drew us here. In his first preparation he finished 4th in the $200k Wellington Boot before announcing himself in the $200k Inglis Challenge filling the minors behind Overfull.
“He looks like a serious racehorse and after a light 2YO preparation we decided to give him a good break over the winter months. It’s always tempting to go and get them at the 10 weeks marker but like all of our young horses we look after them. I love the way he feels and we should have some fun in his 3YO season”. – Clint Lundholm
You won’t miss him in the parade ring and he tackles his first up assignment off a dominant trial at Dubbo on Melbourne Cup day. Kody Nestor was quite bullish about his ability and expects him to really come on from the hit out.
With the unpredictable weather the nominations have been spread however he is likely to race at Gundagai where like Quasimoto will try and break the maiden status on Snake Gully Cup Day. Quasimoto went through the Magic Millions pathway and after placing in the Wyong Magic Millions powered to victory by over 3L a year ago. Injury has plagued Quasi since however with a patient rehabilitation program Clint is hoping to have him back toward the end of the season.
This 3YO gelding has brought a diverse group together from all of the country who like all yearling shoppers are hoping to acquire a high class animal to race. Let the hype begin as the beast BRUTAL LOVE (Brutal x Love Freedom) returns to the races looking to go right through the grades.
Good Luck To All Involved
