Despite being stuck 2 or 3 wide most of the trip, Ashley Morgan judged the race beautifully letting the leaders fight it out in front. He worked into the race from the 600m mark, and by the 300m he had hit the lead. Ashley asked to him to quicken, and he shot away to score by 3.5lengths easing down over the line.
